Our Home
CANMP is based in Augusta, Maine (pop. 18,500). Long home to French Canadian immigrants and their descendants, in recent years Augusta has attracted a growing number of immigrants from the Middle East, South Asia, and other parts of the world. More than 100 foreign-born students are enrolled in Augusta schools, most of whom speak Arabic as their first language.

In 2019, CANMP opened the Augusta Multicultural Center at 70 State Street. The Center hosts community classes, events, and programs that celebrate the diverse cultures of central Maine. A hub of learning, it gives people of all backgrounds an opportunity to expand their horizons.
In 2022, we renovated a former church into the Hallowell Multicultural Center, which hosts the International Kids Festival and other community events.
